Books to Read This Summer
For every avid reader, finding the perfect book to read can be sometimes challenging. Having to read the back of books to get an idea of what the story line or plot is good books to read about is the fun part of finding the perfect book. When the book is chosen, the reader will take it home and read it. This process repeats until they don’t have time to read anymore. - Let the Great World Spin– Colum McCann. In this novel taking place in 1974, a man is doing some risky business with the World Trade Center. “Balancing” on an imaginary tightrope he meets a wide variety of characters that help him through understanding the only way to balance on a tightrope, is always know how to fall.
- Heroic Measures– Jill Ciment. Sharing their lives together, a 70-something couple and their dog are happy until their lives get turned upside down. First the couple’s dog is paralyzed and then a whole city is turned upside down amongst a news broadcasting terrorist-hype attacks. Jill Ciment dives into the madness of real estate and media and still shows the love that ties the bind.
- Yes, My Darling Daughter– Margaret Leroy. In this mystery full of twist and turns involves a 4-year-old girl named Sylvie who wants to go to a place she has never been to nor seen and a family she has never met. She takes her single mother and the psychiatrist along to a little Irish village that is perilous and enchanting.
