Unfortunately MSFT decided to abandon the web building functionality in Publisher and started deprecating it in Pub and went a step further in Pub and stripped out the option to insert an HTML code fragment.
I don’t know how further hobbled it is in Pub as I haven’t loaded it. If you choose the multiple page you will have to manually build a hyperlink navbar to move among the pages if you aren’t using a webpage template.
I assume this is true of Pub One choice is to open one of your old Publisher web files and it will ‘activate’ the web tab and most of the web building functionality you had before, in Pub If this doesn’t work with Pub please post back and let me know.
If you don’t have one of your old web files or web templates from a previous version of Publisher, then there is still one template available online the last time I looked.
Perhaps you could download it and share it with your students. It should ‘activate’ the web tab in Publisher This template will activate the web tab and you can work with it as you did all web templates in Pub and older. With all this said the handwriting is on the wall. You and your students should be moving away from building your site with Publisher. As I said, as of Pub they stripped away the ability to insert an HTML code fragment which is an essential tool to build anything but the most basic site.
I imagine this functionality is further deprecated in Pub MSFT Web Expression is now free and is a full standards compliant web program but also has a huge learning curve.
It is over kill for most people that have used Publisher to build their sites. You might also look at WordPress which is also free. Even your web host probably has a free copy and templates are available that look like traditional web pages or blogs. Download the free starter version which may be all you and your students need and within a couple weeks Serif will start emailing huge discount offers on the newest full version.
And look to your web host for a free web building module for basic sites. There are lots of options out there and you should probably start finding an option to Publisher. Was this reply helpful?
